Hello There,
Looks like you’ve landed on this newsletter to get the scoop on OpenAI Operator.
Q) And you are right, but to set the context, let me know what ChatGPT plan you have. |
If you’re on Plus or Pro, this newsletter is tailored just for you.
And if you’re on the free plan? Stick around anyway—you will feel better about not spending money.

OpenAI just launched OpenAI Operator. It’s like having a personal assistant that can do almost everything:
○ Need movie tickets? Done.
○ Want to order groceries? No problem.
○ Booking a flight? Easy… sort of.
But wait a minute; you can go and look at the demonstration by the OpenAI team, and there’s one immediate issue. Let’s say you’re booking a flight. Operator goes back and forth with you about timing, preferences, and details. But before it finalizes, it still asks for confirmation.

Sure, I could use it to unsubscribe from my pile of YouTube channels or compare flight prices. But for $200 a month? Not sold yet. And I’m not alone in feeling this way.

Let’s talk value. ChatGPT is groundbreaking—probably the most exciting tech we’ve seen in years. So if you’re paying $200 for the Operator plan, you’re buying into the future.
But, I think people are expecting AI to only get cheaper over time.
Usually, when something new comes out from OpenAI or pretty much anyone, people start checking it against the current standards. But in this case, people chose to give free alternatives.
Why?

It feels like a race to the bottom. GPUs are getting cheaper, and so will AI subscriptions. OpenAI knows this. That’s why they’re investing in physical AI (like humanoids). They’ll need revenue from somewhere.
So, using OpenAI Operator or looking for a cheap alternative? |

I wasn’t expecting DeepSeek to be attacked so soon.
They were getting attacked by patriots, but this is too funny.
My conspiracy brain says it’s a paid attack by OpenAI to battle the cheap prices.
Jokes aside, it seems like it’s not going to be a straightforward price fight.
